Exostar Named to Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100
HERNDON, VA, May 25, 2010 ─ Exostar, the leading provider of secure, on-demand, business-to-business solutions to the aerospace and defense (A&D) industry, today announced its inclusion in the 2010 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100, a list of outstanding solution and service providers compiled by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine. The publication is the executive’s user manual for successful supply and demand chain transformation, steering supply management professionals through the complicated, yet critical, world of supply and demand chain enablement to gain competitive advantage.
The theme for the 2010 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 award, “Supply Chain: Back to Basics and Beyond – In Search of the Roots of Supply Chain Excellence,” provided the backdrop for the evaluation process. Honorees were selected based on their ability to demonstrate how they have assisted their customers and clients to achieve supply chain excellence and prepare their supply chains for the rebound from the recent economic downturn.
“We asked companies for two types of input. First, share their thoughts about supply chain challenges, risks, and excellence in the post-recessionary environment. Second, describe how they were enabling executives to overcome these challenges and risks and attain excellence,” said Andrew K. Reese, Editor of Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “Exostar’s assessment of the A&D marketplace and the case study they shared about the impact of their Supply Chain Platform (SCP) deployment convinced us that they clearly belonged on our list.”
In its award nomination, Exostar highlighted the need for companies to improve visibility and process integration with their supply base. The nomination also illustrated how one of Exostar’s customers benefitted from using SCP to transition its production planning activities from manual, one-way exchanges of static information to a real-time, automated, collaborative process with its suppliers. As a result, the customer was able to reduce operating expenditures, improve on-time delivery of goods from suppliers, and redeploy valuable resources.
“Being chosen for the Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 is a wonderful endorsement of our vision with regard to supply chain excellence, as well as our ability to help customers achieve that vision,” said Peter Scott, Exostar’s Vice President of Supply Chain Solutions. “We firmly believe that the key to success for businesses is to leverage tools like SCP that provide supply chain visibility, automate basic processes, identify risk, and produce real-time metrics to measure and track supply chain performance.”
