Exostar Names Dipto Chakravarty CTO
Information Security Industry Leader and Visionary to Oversee Strategic Design and Execution Initiatives for Company’s Technology Groups
HERNDON, VA, August 8, 2017 – Exostar, whose cloud-based solutions help companies in aerospace and defense, life sciences, and healthcare collaborate securely with their partners, today announced it has hired Dipto Chakravarty as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Chakravarty will lead the strategic design, software engineering, and ongoing innovation of the company’s technology infrastructure, operations, and delivery. Each of these areas are vital as Exostar enters a new phase of growth in its solutions and markets.
Chakravarty brings a diverse set of information security skills and experiences to Exostar. He has a track record of success pivoting software products to cloud-first and mobile-first offerings in mission-critical domains such as cybersecurity, identity and access management (IAM), security information and event management (SIEM), threat remediation, and security analytics. His career arc spans running high-profile business units at global, publicly-traded companies, as well as growing startups that matured to acquisition.
“Exostar has built an impressive customer community and portfolio of secure business collaboration solutions to date,” Chakravarty said. “There is an urgent need to continue to bring innovative IAM and risk analytics capabilities to a marketplace where threats to organizations and their supply chains are evolving at a faster pace than solutions. I am looking forward to best positioning the company to take full advantage of the short-term and long-term growth opportunities that lie on the road ahead.”
Chakravarty comes to Exostar from CA Technologies, where he was Senior Vice President and General Manager of its core security IAM business unit. At CA, he also served as Senior Vice President of Engineering, with oversight of the company’s cybersecurity product lines. Prior to CA, Chakravarty held executive positions at ThreatTrack Security, Novell, and Thomson-Reuters. He began his career as a software engineer at IBM and Bell Labs after graduating with undergraduate and graduate degrees in computer science from the University of Maryland.
“Dipto is a proven, results-oriented leader with a unique skillset that aligns perfectly with our current and future business plans,” said Richard Addi, Exostar’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “The security solutions developed on his watch consistently have won the highest praise, and I am confident he will be a catalyst for our ongoing transformation and growth.”
